Giovanni Stea received the Laurea degree (summa cum laude) and the PhD degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1999 and 2003 respectively. Starting from January 2004, he has been with the Department of Information Engineering, where he is now Associate Professor, as a member of the Computer Networking Group.

Research Interests

The main research area of Giovanni Stea is Quality of Service in multi-service networks, therein including:

  • Algorithms for QoS provisioning in packet networks (scheduling, admission control, etc.)
  • Performance Evaluation of computer networks through simulation and analytical techniques, e.g. Network Calculus
  • Wireless Networks (IEEE 802.11, UMTS/HSPA, LTE, LTE Advanced, Wireless Mesh Networks)
  • Traffic Engineering
